Problem
The legacy brand protection partner supporting the community could not safeguard the growing ecosystem and deliver on a commitment to a best-in-class user experience. The team’s vendor lacked the web3 knowledge, features, and speedy response times needed to proactively manage the deluge of threats and scale with demand.
In the lead up to Mainnet launch, phishing attacks were constant and ever-changing, with fake Sui token accounts, airdrop scams, and imitation websites continually springing up alongside numerous impostor social media accounts. Multiple fraudulent accounts posing as the official Sui network had over 100,000 followers, with dozens more in the 10,000-40,000 range.
Sui community members were being targeted, and as their legacy vendor struggled to respond, the team knew it was time to make a change.

The Solution
The community needed a sophisticated, adaptable, and most importantly, speedy solution to face these threats. So Mysten Labs and Sui Foundation turned to Doppel for its comprehensive web3-native capabilities and lightning-fast resolutions.
With Doppel Monitor in place, cases that eluded other providers are automatically handled. Advanced logo and image recognition models instantly detect Sui phishing sites, social media impersonators are auto-reported, and NFT indexers identify fake airdrops and domain squatting for marketplace reporting.
In total, 703 instances of fraudulent activity have been taken down, significantly reducing risk to users. 485 of these takedowns were impostor social media accounts, including those with the largest followings.
