The Problem
As a high-profile studio with many big-name products and partnerships, IP protection is paramount for Dapper Labs. Counterfeits and phishing threats, ever-increasing in volume, scope, and quality as the world of web3 continues to grow and expand, pose a significant risk to brand image and customer and partner trust. Facing this constantly-evolving landscape of threats, Dapper Labs needed a robust and reliable solution that could continuously detect and take down fraudulent activities while driving down costs through AI automation.
The Solution
Dapper Labs turned to Doppel for a cost-effective but deeply powerful solution for their brand protection needs. With continuous, unlimited 24/7 detection and real-time takedown of threats across many digital channels, Doppel offered a comprehensive system that was up for the challenge of protecting the Dapper Labs brand.
Results
Doppel's 24/7 monitoring detected a total of 1,076 threats, including counterfeits and phishing attempts. In total, 876 instances of fraud were successfully taken down, including over 100,000 individual NFTs.
Doppel’s fine-tuned solution also allowed for the targeting of fraudulent activity against specific digital assets owned by Dapper Labs. 282 threats against NBA Top Shot were removed, along with 276 against CryptoKitties. Scam accounts, social media, and domain media were also targeted by Doppel’s system, taking down 133 fraudulent social media accounts, 22 counterfeit domain and media channels, multiple fake executive and brand impersonator accounts with over 100,000 followers.
