Without a system to report brand impersonations on social media on their behalf, UniSat was left reporting impersonations directly to social platforms and was subject to weeks-long rounds of communication and a convoluted takedown process.

The Story
UniSat is a browser-based Bitcoin wallet and trading platform, and like many blockchain technology companies, is extremely active in social media, and X (formerly Twitter) especially.
UniSat’s Community Manager, Sammy, said that while the company sees social media as providing significant value and influence compared to other mediums, it also represents substantial risks that can be exploited by cybercriminals.
Before working with Doppel, Unisat would submit brand impersonation complaints manually through platforms’ reporting mechanisms – a process that proved time-consuming and unsustainable.
“Doppel offers a streamlined process for efficiently reporting pages with successful takedowns on Twitter,” Sammy said.
In fact, since UniSat has engaged Doppel for brand protection, Doppel has taken down 249 instances of brand impersonations on UniSat’s behalf across malicious domains and social media platforms. Out of 289 social impersonation detections, 216 were on X alone.
Along with better and faster takedowns, UniSat has found Doppel’s service delivery a value-add in protecting its brand and user community.
